Using this Site

Finding a Property:
By entering your preferred requirements (location, number of bedrooms etc.) on the search page, you can quickly identify those properties that most closely match your preferences.

Every property has its own unique reference number in the top left hand corner of each page (e.g. IL123). Make a note of this reference number for those properties you are most interested in and you can quickly return to the desired property by typing the reference number into the appropriate field in the Search box.

Contacting the Owner:
You will find a link to the property owner's contact details (telephone, fax, e-mail link) on each page of the property details. When e-mailing, and to assist the owner in dealing with your enquiry, please give your name, e-mail address, telephone number and state the number of people in your party plus the dates that you are interested in. There is room on the form to include any particular requirements or questions you may have.

Whilst most enquiries will be responded to immediately, please bear in mind that these are private owners and that they may not review their e-mails every day. If, however, you do not get a response within a couple of days, we would recommend that you telephone them.

Making a Booking:
Once you have decided on a property please check the property description for details of the booking procedure, as these can differ from owner to owner. You should, however, expect to pay an initial deposit to secure the booking (typically 10% - 50% of the total rental price), which is normally paid either by cheque or bank transfer direct to the owner.

The owner should then confirm the booking and receipt of your payment by letter or by e-mail. The balance will usually become payable around 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. A breakage / security deposit is sometimes required with the balance and is typically refundable at the end of the holiday less the cost of any breakages and metered charges for gas / electricity / telephone if applicable and not included in the rental rate.

It is advisable that you check the cancellation terms with the owner when booking as deposits are often non-refundable and owners may impose a sliding scale of charges for late cancellations, particularly after the balance has been paid. You are advised to ask for any terms and conditions in writing.
